REAL COIMBATORIANS

Coimbatore is known well all over India for its climatic condition and its people with respect. The people in Coimbatore are rich in hospitality, respect, treating guests and even strangers. From 1990s people who migrated from other places to Coimbatore have settled here in the outskirts of City because of the conducive climatic condition and peaceful atmosphere. Now, if we step into a Town Bus, especially in the peak hours, one can doubt whether we are in Coimbatore or Madurai, because most of the people speaks Madurai slang Tamil only.

No harm. Coimbatore always invite people irrespective of any region and keep them with with respect. In the past, the people who settled here, from whichever the region they belong, accoustomed to follow the soft behaviour and respect of Coimbatore. No difference was found till 2005.

Now, the youth from Madurai / Ramnad District especially working here as Drivers and other Vendors are trying to spoil the original Coimbatore climate (respect to each other) by their rude behaviour and attitude.

This I have noticed in so many places in Coimbatore city. Even an old man is not respected for his age. Most of the quarrels noticed now are from other region people only. They are trying to adulterate rather dominate the pure Coimbatore culture.

Those who are working / doing business / settled in Coimbatore and having Associations of their own may suitably take action by advising the youngsters to keep the heritage values of Coimbatore and transform themselves to Coimbatorian.

Let us keep the identity of Coimbatore for ever........
